今年もシイタケの木を伐ります。

倒した木は【葉枯らし】と言い

このまましばらく放置して

葉から水分を蒸散して木の水分を減らします。

水分が多いと椎茸菌が死ぬ

A knocked down tree is called [hagarashi]

leave it like this for a while

It reduces the moisture content of the tree by transpiration of water from the leaves.

Too much water will kill the shiitake mushrooms.
