毎年小正月の時期（1月15日頃）に

古いお正月飾りやしめ縄・お守り・御札を

神社・お寺や河川敷に持ち寄り

焚く日本の伝統行事

正月にお迎えした歳神様が

どんど焼きの煙とともにお帰りになるのを

感謝をこめてお見送りする意味

竹が破裂する【ボ－ンボ－ン】という音を聞き

今年一年間の無病息災を祈る

地域により、どんと焼き・とんど焼き・どんど焼き

縁起物を燃やして、五穀豊穣、商売繁盛、家内安全、無病息災を願います

どんど焼きのどんどとは、どんどん焼くから
