While I was photographing the Fujibakama flowers, a chestnut butterfly arrived.
It was sucking nectar from the flowers and building up strength for its flight south.
At some point, there were two of them.
The chestnut tiger butterfly is a butterfly native to Japan that flaps its wings over 2,000 km, crosses the ocean to Taiwan, and is about the size of a human palm.
